WALA is one of the few co-op artists studios in Norwalk. For awhile Norwalk had many but the ravages of developing former factories into apartments or offices took their toll.

FedEX used to occupy this old factory building but in 2007, the Wilson Avenue Loft Artists ( WALA ) became part of a redevelopment effort to repurpose the buildings. Located at the end of MLK drive WALA offers 15 studio spaces for artists working in a variety of media, including painting, collage, printmaking, sculpture and photography.

The artists of WALA host an annual Open Studio Weekend.
